We have been made aware of some inaccurate information circulating regarding special ‘rescue packs’ for patients with pre-existing respiratory conditions such as asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

Please do not contact your GP practice for a rescue pack. You should continue to manage your condition in the usual way and if you feel you have symptoms of COVID-19, go to before doing anything else.

Please read this helpful information from the British Lung Foundation

You will note that there is no recommendation to have a rescue pack as there is no evidence for their use and indeed their are concerns steroid will reduce your immunity to fight off this virus.

Travel Vaccines Available

Combined Vaccine

Hepatitis A

Hepatitis B

£25.50 each

course of 3 – 4 vaccines dependent on time available before departure

Meningitis ACWY*

not suitable for children under 5 years

course of 3 vaccines over 28 days

*These have to be paid for in reception prior to ordering from our supplier, either cash or Card.

We suggest you visit the surgery and complete a holiday form as soon as you know you want to travel. Most vaccines need to be administered a minimum of 3 weeks prior to travel to build up your immunity. Some vaccines need to be given as a course over a period of time. If you are planning a long trip with many exciting destinations then the more forward planning the better. If you have a record of previous immunisations please bring it with you. If you were born overseas, have no record of previous immunisations, or missed out on childhood immunisations, then you could need more vaccines than you think to ensure that you are covered.

We recommend the following websites to read about diseases, vaccines and non-vaccine treatable   diseases.

We also offer malaria prophylaxis advice, but we need a full itinerary to give accurate advice. Many exotic destinations require malaria tablets that need a private script: charge per person - £5. Some chemists also provide this service.
