We need your views!
Horne Street would like to merge with The Boulevard Medical Practice. We want to know what your views on this are so we can make a decision.
What is a merger?
A merger would mean that two GP practices would work as one. The GPs of both practices would work together and share the same staff and possibly the same building. The patients from both practices will still be able to stay registered with the practice.
Why do we think we need to merge?
The practice believes that a merger will improve services for both patients and staff.
Horne Street will benefit from having a wider range of clinicians available for patients giving them access to female GP’s. The range of services will also increase for Horne Street patients as services such as coil fits and contraceptive implants will be available along with Minor Surgery. 3 of the GP’s at the Boulevard speak Urdu and Punjabi which is a predominant language for the population of Horne Street.
The Boulevard will gain another GP partner, boosting the strength of the practice moving forward. The Boulevard has the capacity and resources to support a larger practice and has the potential to expand physically if needed. Dr Niazi from Horne Street also brings a joint injection service which the Boulevard at the moment is limited to offering knees only. Dr Niazi also has a special interest in Dermatology increasing skills in this area available for all patients. Horne Street staff will bring language skills to the Boulevard that we currently do not have GP resources are very scarce and by coming together the practices ensure resilience to build and grow the service going forward, providing a stable service for ALL patients.
The practice wants to ensure that your views are considered. If you would like to tell us what you think please fill out the short survey.
You can also ask for a printed survey form to be collected from the surgery or you can print from below link:
We can also support anyone to complete a survey over the telephone by contacting 01422 357333
What if I have more questions?
If you have any questions or comments regarding this please speak to Shama Hussain/Anju Sethi by contacting the practice on: 01422 357333
How will I know when a decision has been made?
Once we have the feedback from the survey we will put in an application to NHS CALDERDALE Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) who buy healthcare services for local people in CALDERDALE. We will keep you updated on any decisions with a notice in the practice and on the website.
